I am changing my 1970 Super Bee V-Code track pack car over from 4 wheel 11" power drum brakes to manual front disc (Kelsey Hays) and 11" rear drums. Can someone please list all of the components I need?

1) I have a pair of spindles, rotors (2 piece) and calipers off of a 1970 B-body. I will rebuild the calipers.

2) I may have a manual brake backing plate for the master cylinder. Does anyone have a picture to confirm? I have the original bendix power booster, plate and linkage, but I am assuming I cannot use any of these pieces.

3) What master cylinder do I get? Obviously I know disc/drum one, but any specific unit? I am putting a Hemi in the car and I know there are engine exit and fender exit master cylinders, which one should I use?

4) Which proportioning / distribution block set up? I want factory looking stuff. Can I use the one I have?

5) I will get a new brake line kit specifically for the set up.

6) What brake rod do I use? Is it a bolt in deal since my pedals were from a power unit?

7) Do I have to change the size of the rear wheel cylinder bore? Did drum brake cars have different ones than disc brake cars?

8) Any other misc info I may have forgotten? I know many people have changes over to disc fronts.....

It will answer most of the questions you have and usually has decent pictures of most of the stuff.

If in doubt, would talk to Dr. Diff. He provides kits to change over, and would have the knowledge of the factory stuff too . . .

What does the factory non-power disc/drum master cylinder look like? Does anyone have any pics?

There was no manual disc drum option on a Superbee, but this is what the power one looks like.

There was a manual disc drum option available on '70 B Body taxicabs. It looked like this.

Gosh! If you’re going that far swapping to front disks, I would definitely consider going to the 11.75” cop car disks and follow the Mopar Action Magazine “Disc-O-Tech” brake swap article. I did it on my 70 Bee. It incorporates the ‘70 single piston calipers, ‘71 up A body spindles, later B body caliper brackets and factory hoses. I used the Wilwood proportioning valve and defy anyone to detect it. Super well hidden. The Right Stuff makes brake lines with the correct sections to add that valve. Rick Ehrenberg’s article will get you through the master cylinder needs too. I myself went with a later model light weight cylinder as my car is highly customized.

We use 70 C body disc drum masters.No difference from power as long as the reman has the OE piston to retain the brake rod.Mine has been in for 20 years.Mt kids was in for 15.Rocky

Every thing I bought from the Wrong Stuff was, well wrong.

On my 70 Sport Satellite, it had manual drums, changed to discs up front - still manual, used the lightweight aluminum master cylinder, along with F,M,J body spindles and the larger 11.75" discs and calipers from M body (so they have the bleeder screw in upper spot) . . . no issues at all with this set up and pedal feel is great . . .

Would a 1982 Cordoba have the caliper brackets for the 11-3/4 rotor. Pin type? What body platform is that car?

You need the '76-79 B body or 79 up R body (first digit of vin is R, W, X or S.) I don't know what the Cordoba is classified as. I got mine of a 4 door St. Regis.

Dude, I am sorry to hear that. I bought all mine through summit and it fit like a glove.

F/M/J bodies (80 Doba is a J body) never came with 11.75" rotors, if you find a set on one someone swapped it in, like I did on my old 87 Diplomat.

15” rims are going on the car. I think I located the correct set. Stay tuned.
