My buddy found this piece at the bottom of his 1/4 window area on the driver's side of his 1971 convertible Barracuda. We can't seem to id this item and everything works well. Looks like it had been sitting for a long time. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

That looks like the 1/4 window upstop bracket. It's shaped differently then the ones on my 73 Challenger. The two allen head bolts give it away though. Maybe those are convertible specific?

I found this picture of where they should attach on a hard top. Check and see if there is anything attached there currently.

Burdar is absolutely correct these are the up stops for E-body convertibles. Below is a picture comparing a convertible quarter window on the right and hardtop on left. On the convertible the stop contacts the hose around nub on the diecasting while the hardtop up stop is the plastic bushing screwed into the glass. I'm not 100% sure what the hardtop body piece of the up stop looks like looks like but I don't believe it attaches at the same place as the convertible because the convertible glass has two holes in it so you can adjust the stop and the hardtop glass does not have these.

Here is one side after plating. Mine were silver zinc plated along with the allen cap screws and Belleville Washers.
