Getting progress done on my '72 SWB truck. Got some 18" wheels off CL that should look pretty good on it. Decided to use the Adventurer cab because it's got way less rust & will take less to get it going.

It appears one side of the truck sat in the elements & the other side was covered.

Got the body/bed pulled from the short bed frame. Someone before me cleaned up the frame & painted it all. They also put all new front suspension pieces in too.

The Adventurer cab has no rust in the floors & the build sheet was under the carpet up near the firewall.

Got the motor out without breaking the AC lines down. It still has a change & works if you jumper the compressor. I figure I'll chase down what's not letting it kick in this summer but I didn't want to tear into it.

Kind of sketchy lifting the cab off. Using a cherry picker on the core support & jacks on the back. Rolled it out with a floor jack under the front center section.

Slow going cleaning the oil off the side of the block. It's really not that bad but I want it clean to freshen up the gaskets & paint it up.

Went to eat in the '80 Macho the day of swapping the cab around we got a early 80's parked right by us, it was a D100 day for sure.

Been a while since I posted on this thread but it's been on the road now for 3 months & doing great. Swapped the 3.90 gears for 2.94 gears & it will cruise the highway at 75 with no problems & it's not too bad off the line still.

Oh Man That looks nice. up
Great job on the cab swap.
I have a clean 80's cab I want to put on my '78.
Got a rebuilt 400-727 combo & a nice pair of Ansen 5 slot 15"X 10"s for the rear along with a pair of the truck/c-body aluminum rims to go on the front.
It's just a dented rusty hulk.
Gonna rebuild the suspension and brakes, then run what I got.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.
