I've been running my 8 3/4 with a alum center for years..
Keep it off the track, and a 8.75 will live forever.... here’s your proof! BS,Beat the hell out of em on the street AND the track in a slo azz mid 9 second car in the low 1.3 60's and IT will live for many, many happy years................. Not worth my time.. I guess he built a tank and the 8 3/4 broke.. my car is light and its holding up fine with a back brace and the alum center No doubt about being light helping and of course foot-breaking helps a BUNCH............
72 Dart 470 n/a BB stroker street car `THUMPER`...Check me out on FB Dominic Thumper for videos and lots of carb pics......760-900-3895.....

It is funny how some go rounds for years and some break in the burnout box first time out......
I once saw a Falcon do a burnout and spit the pion and driveshaft from his 9" Ford twenty feet past the starting line. So I suppose all big pion 9" Ford's are junk all so?
Have a great day Iowan

I ran a 8.750 for a lot of years and everyone said that it won't hold and will break,,one year at Norwalk in the middle of eliminations it said good bye and spit a tooth out of the rear of the housing,, ruined my day, but they were right, eventually they will break, just a matter of when.

This one? I've seen that mode of failure many times over the years. Nine-inchers love to do that.

Back when my Daytona was running 8.60's I lite both stage lights at Norwalk, floored it, and left go of the trans-brake button. The 9 inch rearend broke and never even moved out of the stage beems. I'm gonna say I had about 1100 runs on those gears and they were in the car when I bought it.

I had a 31 spline Ford 9" in my 440 Demon. MILD engine. I took out 5-6 rear ends before I gave up. WAR cases, nodular cases, new gears every time, set up buy 4 different guys. No Ford 9" rears for me. I know they work for lots of guys. I'll pass though...

A good friend of mine raced a 64 300 K for 45 years, ran 11.0s @ 4100 lbs and only broke the 8 3/4 one time in the thirty years I knew him.

Now let's talk about cast iron heads. Lol I went 9.80's with them 35 years ago with 906's heads and pop-up pistons but I had a Dana rearend in the car so does that count?
