If ao what did you torque the nuts to?

I bought these for my rebuild and have had a time with them. Bought them from Mancini. Came with no instructions, and were different from the pics. My package came with the poly bushings in outer shells that were powder coated and marked Proforged.

I tried pressing them in as a unit and ended up distorting a bushing. Had to take them back apart and hammer the bushings out of the shells. Pressed shells into arms, then pressed in bushings, and then pressed in pivots. Whew. Done right?

Nope. No instructions so no torque spec. Found a FABO post saying someone snapped one trying to hit the factory torque spec. So I called hotchkis yesterday and the tech guy said he didn't have a torque spec, knew it wasn't the factory 125 ft/lb, and couldn't believe someone broke a set because they were hardened steel.... So I said "Well that doesn't help, and its your part sooo..." Guy puts me on hold while he finds one of the engineers. Comes back and says he has two answers from the engineers "really good and tight" and "somewhere around 70 ft/lb or so".

So, I'm a bit shocked that a company like hotchkis can't give a firm answer on this. Anyone else use these and how did you set them up?

I have those shafts and used the stock torque spec?

I am not sure I understand the main concern is on specific torgue specs. They don't restrain anything, they just need to stay in place, correct?
Hardly any of the normal forces on the road are not loading the nut fastener. I'm basing this off the grease-able Firm feel LCA pivots I have.

Torqued mine to factory spec, but not driven yet. Should I be concerned? By the way, you can buy the ProForged ones from Rockauto for $84.95.

I used Delrin bushings, and yes.

So did the Firm Feel or Proforged come with instructions. I get that unlike factory bonded rubber units, they are just acting as supports for the LCA via the bushing. But still when the people that make them can't set a torque spec or bother to write install instructions for their own hardware its a little concerning.

I guess I'll tighten somewhere between real good and tight and 70 ftlb and call it good.

Mine are at factory torque specs, only 3,000mi, but no issues.

Mike....maybe dig around online and see if you can find a tech number at Proforged. They seem to have a pretty decent reputation, as far as suspension parts go. Unless I'm wrong, the pin is just going to spin in the poly bushing anyway, instead of being tight and twisting the bushing like the rubber ones do. I think the grease is to keep it from sounding like a Ford Falcon when you're driving. "Squeeeeeek, squeaky, squeekity squeak!" LOL
