Anyone here ever fab up a rear disc brake conversion using GM calipers, and Jeep rotors? The weld on brackets can be had for about $30, new rotors a pair are about $60, and the calipers are around $40 a pair. I used a similar setup on a old dragster, and it stopped just as good, if not better than the higher end stuff, only draw back IMO is the weight. I always made the first turn off return road at the local 8th mile only track running 143 MPH. These conversions is very poplular in the dirt/circle track crowds.

I'm going to be working on it in the next few days. I almost have everything in my engine bay cut and reworked and welded. Then onto the rear brakes.

I have never done it before but I have all the parts cost me under $100 for everything.

I didn't like the jeep rotors - too thin - try rotors from a 77-80 Lincoln Versailles - they had rear disks, about $60 at AutoZone. have to take a die grinder to the register holes to open them slightly to fit Mopar axles.
