Is the pedal assembly bracket painted black or body color on my 70 Cuda? Thanks

the pedal assembly is natural steel with the pedals dipped in black paint about 3/4 of the way up

They had no paint. I glass bead them and shoot some clear on them for protection.

I have disassembled several pedal assemblies and there is always cosmoline residual between the supports where they are bolted together. So they were natural metal but were dipped, coated, in cosmoline lightly. Just clearing bare metal will develop rust over time. I use cosmoline spray, let it dry, then clear coat with matte clear. Looks perfect and stays rust free.

I did notice the cosmoline during disassembly. Thanks for the info.

I used Rustoleum professional spray paint in stainless steel and then the semi-gloss black for the lower parts of the pedals. It came out very nice.
