We have replaced the entire front and rear suspension (Firm Feel)on the Great Race Bluesmobile in preparation for this years race. That included a steering box upgrade/overhaul to a Stage 1 setup by Firm Feel. We have not driven it much and this may have been going on and not noticed as we were fighting a collapsed front brake line. That is now resolved so I am putting some serious miles on it each week. I now notice a slight lump in the steering wheel at about 30 degree intervals going each way. Parked with engine running it seems OK. Car is drivable as is, I was just wondering if this is normal for the quick ratio stuff. Thanks Jake & Elwood

That does not sound normal. You might want to check the upper/lower bearings/bushings in the steering column. Also, look for some idler arm & pitman arm interference with the car sitting just to be sure.

It almost sounds like a "bumpsteer" situation, so you might want to check your alignment too. Has the car been lowered?

FOUND IT!!! The rally speedometer bracket was slightly touching the steering wheel collar. Slid the bracket in further, BADA_BING smooth operation. That is why we did not notice it before as I put the speedo in last week. That Firm Feel stuff is Great. See you between Buffalo and Halifax late June. Jake
