so it has been a while, but here are the things I ran into. I put one in a 65 coronet, but it had a poly 318 not a slant 6. schumaker makes conversion mounts for /6 to v8. but not sure how it handles 318 vs 360 mounts vs bb mounts you would have to check.
727 vs 904. I used the original 318 converter, so it was neutrally balalnced. b&m used to make a flex plate for the direct bolt in of a 5.9 to a 727 and it was balanced for it. The holes don't line up for a 904 and they didn't make one. BUT I read some people slotted a hole and it worked. never read further on it.
power steering- 2 things here. get a van bracket/pump. otherwise the truck one will put the cap under the battery tray. the van tucks it in closer to the engine. for the hose, I found a hose shop near me. lots of them over town and had them customize the ends and length so I could bolt it up to the old power steering box to the new pump. Some have mentioned it might be too much pressure, but I haven't had any issues so far. been 10 years I guess now.
I used the original alt that came with the 5.9. not sure on your car but mine has the single field voltage reg. I grounded one field wire and ran the other to the single field vr just like any other dual field vr and it works fine.
The alt bracket also includes the a/c mount and the idler wheel I think. a/c mount is different between vans and trucks. I found I needed to modify all that swaping between the van pump vs the truck pump to find a belt to give me better wrap. I got one thet worked originally, but decided to find a better one. by swapping the idler with a 5.7 hemi one, I was able to find a factory 5.9 belt that worked, that was for a different model. not saying you can't get a van one to work, but it wasn't ideal routing to me.

Yup, me too. It seems no one has addressed the K member yet. I do believe you will need to swap it for a V-8 style. The slant mounts are very different.

Member als499 sells a flex plate on Ebay that works with multiple bolt patterns @ crank & converter, neutral (internal) balance. I cant find anything. can you point me in the right direction?

I put LA360 into my 70 Sport Satellite. But that car was original 318 car . . . however, drivers side motor mt bracket needs to be a 340 bracket. It is offset compared to the 318. Not sure if Schumaker has the conversion for slant 6 to small block with that . . .
My car had 904 with the 318. But I had a 727 that was rebuilt and had correct converter, so I went with that behind the 360.
I used the wiring harness for electronic ignition . . . however, I did lengthen the harness for the ignition module, and placed it under the battery.
As was mentioned, I would upgrade the t-bars to something larger. Make the car more enjoyable to drive in the long run. Also, if it does not have front sway bar, I would add that in . . .
Good luck with it !!!

So Schumacher does not make a kit for slant six to magnum. They told me I need to find a 318 k frame. I managed to find one on a parts car out back. It has the sway bar on it as well. It also has a 727 trans I can use and the larger torsion bars.
I really wish I would of used the v belt set up on my motor instead of keeping the serpentine belt. How hard would it be for to change this over? I’d love to run a mechanical fuel pump, correct fan, and correct style alt.

I put a 360 Magnum in my '68 Slant 6 Barracuda using the Schumacher mounts. If you are not going to use the EFI, you are leaving out one of the best upgrades for using the Magnum. It's easy, but a bit expensive or harder and less money. It's so worth it.
The other trick to using the serpentine belt is to use a smaller battery and cut the tray. That's what I did. If you search my posts on A-Bodies only, you can find out a lot of other good tips I accumulated from the web for doing the swap.
You do need to retain the Magnum flex plate to use the EFI. I simply elongated one hole to allow it to bolt up to a 904 small block transmission.
