This is going in my 70 CUDA, which will see a fair amount of test n tune track time. Early 5.7 block, Molnar crank and rods 4.08, 6.125. Wiseco 3.94 piston with 0.866 pin, -5cc dish. Lightly ported Eagle heads, 11.1 compression. Howards 222/233 .582 .582, 114 cam. TTI 1.75 6.1 headers, 3 inch X pipe exhaust. 727, 3.73 Dana. MS3 FI. Not much data out there on the Edelbrock intake, but Dave Weber said on a Facebook post he doesn't like the PCV design and issues it creates. Kinda frustrating because there isn't much else I can do to find power. Last decision will be throttle body size and type, that's about it. Opinions welcome ! -scott

Good combo, 6.1 Intake will be fine, Curious question for you, do you have sonic #s after the 4.08 Bore? the 05 5.7 I had bored out to 4.09 cracked #1 thrust side after 5k mile(street miles).

sounds almost exactly like an 392 apache, very similar compression, cam, heads, CID, have you looked at a low miles take out engine?
The apache intake is better flowing out of the box plus it is plastic so light weight and keeps the air and fuel way cooler and as mentioned has the variable intake runner length. Last but not least they are cheaper. The only advantage of the 6.1 is it can be ported but its gonna need quite a bit to beat the apache intake and still going to put a ton o heat in the intake air. Another one thats better is the eagle truck intake and they are cheaper yet.

I have an eagle truck intake, the active part on the back is missing though... but would sell it cheap if you need one.

Did you sonic check yours? My 04 5.7 block has a min thickness of .176 @ 3.93 bore. I wouldn't want to take it to 4.090, but 4.055 would probably be alright to still be over .100 everywhere.

Block check @ 3.917 had .207 before bore .120 after Bore in that spot,(middle depth #1) Thinnest spot on that block after bore was #7 non Thrust @.101 middle depth
