Are the Dana 60 shock mounting plates identical whether it is for a b body or e body? Any difference in year models? Thanks

In 1970 they are the same.Usualy called the "long" style or TA version.I am not sure if they used them in 71 or switched back to the short style.

Visually, can a person tell the difference? I need to buy a set and saw some on the bay.

Yes,the lower shock stud/mount hangs down lower (approx. 1") for longer shock travel I would guess than the standard short plate.
