Torsion bar remover. Ebay shows all kinds of things that look like a micrometer.

Thanks in advance

You can make one pretty easily if you have a drill and piece of flat plate steel and some u-clamps from a hardware store. Remove them all the time with no damage.

The ones that look like a "micrometer" are used for Chevy trucks to unload the tension off the bar. There are plenty of examples of homemade tools on the google search for "mopar" specific T-bars.

The Mancini one looks good though shruggy

I've never used one either....the whole idea is to not hurt the surface of the bar....many ways to grap one w/o hurting it.

Take care,

what works for me is to take off the wheels to lighten the assy & pry or tap the LCA rearward a bit to get the bar started rearward then tap the LCA forward till it comes off of the bar. A floor jack under the LCA to get it all supported/inline. If I was to clamp it I would ABSOLUTELY use some wood.

This is how I do it too. It works really well, besides, the LCAs have to be loosened to put it all back together.

While I think I bought it somewhere else, I have the removal tool that Mancini sells. It works well and does not take up much room in the tool box.

If you need to buy the tool,
the http://www.manciniracing.com/tobarreabceb.html
clamp pictured above is the right one.

The home made tool with u bolts werk just fine and does not mar the bar.
It is a heck of a lot cheaper.

I have removed them by releasing the tension in the control arm and tapping on the back of the bar with a drift.
Some times they fight, other times, they fall right out.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.
