orange elephants OP mopar Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 553 Chattanooga, TN	How complicated is it to swap a 426 crate hemi into a 1967 coronet 383 4-speed car? Is it necessary to change out the K-member and swap the 23 spline 4-speed for the 18 spline hemi 4-speed? The car has power steering but not power brakes.

chargervert I Live Here Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 15,995 RI Deep in the rust belt	Just get a set of Schumachers Hemi to stock V8 K frame mounts and it will bolt right in,assuming that the crate Hemi has standard Hemi mounting holes in the block. They did make early crate Hemi engines with the wedge type mounting ears too. I used the Schumacher mounts to bolt my crate Hemi into my 70 Charger R/T with no issues.
