Looking for anyone who has any experience with Headers for this gen Power Wagon. I want to put Headers on my '79 Power Wagon, and don't see many makers (Hedman, Hooker, and I think one other). TTI says they don't know if any of their's fit. Would like a set of their's as I know they are high quality. I'm looking for something long tube with thick flanges and that I don't have to dent up to fit.
Anyone have any experience with any and been happy?
Thanks,
Larry

You might take a look at the Hedman Elites (79178) They're 14 gauge tubing and 3/8" flanges. I will thank you. Larry

Those look REALLY nice. Priced lower than TTI too.
One thing it states, and I've seen this on others, will not fit with late model high torque starter. I would think the late model high torque starter is smaller and therefore easier fit. Can I still use a high torque "mini starter" or is this the same thing? I'm afraid the stock starter (huge) that's in there now will be entrapped.
I guess Hedman will know but would like some feedback here too if anyone has used these. I really like the stats on these.
Thanks,
Larry

If it's a small block truck, call Hedman and see if they will make you a set of Tork Tube headers for the truck. I had a set on my old 84 D350, and they were 4wd headers. They were some of the nicest headers I've ever had. The tubes started out as 1 5/8, and went a foot or so and then stepped up to 1 3/4. The flanges were 3/8, and the headers fit just fine with a mini starter off of a 92 Dodge van. If Hedman still has the plans and will run a set, I'd be in for buying another set if they're willing to run a few sets off. Hedman says they won't fit a 2wd truck like mine, but I don't mind grinding an 1/8 inch off the passenger side frame rail....lol.

Hey Larry,
picked up a 2nd set of 4x4 headers in good shape.
the listing are all over the place with fit and don't fit. you just need to know what the tubes look like for clearance on drive shaft.
I just pulled this set from the 4x4 chassis I drug home and they are like new.
I will bring them over and save you some coin on them. I like the sound of that!!! I'll be in touch. Thanks Mike!!!

Very curious to see how that passenger side routes as scratchinfortraction mentioned! They look great.
