Does anyone have a measurement for how far from the back of the hood to position the scoop? Lots of pictures on the web, but it's really hard to get a shot which shows it very well. Is there a factory "spec." available?

Leave a gap of approx 1/4" to 3/8" from the back of the hood's rear edge to the back edge of the scoop, factory wasn't very precise

Yeah.I kind of figured with the old school "build quality" from the 60's if it ended up on the top of the hood it was good to ship. Thanks.I'll probably move it around and look at it for a couple days and decide.

Correct, anything from almost nothing to just over 1/4" is what I've seen on originals.

Here's the template to cut the bracing so a race hemi crossram intake can be used.

Repo adapter plates to seal the carbs on the Vanke intake are available also.

Thanks to all for the replies. PasiR:Mine is a Glasstek. I got it at the Indy swap meet earlier this month. It has a flange around the bottom for mounting. Filled a couple low spots and blocked it down to get it straighter/smoother,but you will have to do that with any of them. Could have been a little bit thicker, but not flimsy either. I'm going to make it functional for extra ventilation and a little extra hood clearance. My air intakes are in the wheelwells.

Moparts member Domingo, makes some awesome steel and aluminum hemi and max wedge scoops. Very nice quality and option other than fiberglass and look much nicer in my opinion.
