I don't see why not. I ran the Cuda for years with a 16 volt battery and alternator. My accumulator was also never an issue, nor did my C02 shifter solenoid nor the throttle stop solenoids. Many racers run the saem stuff without issue. Everything saw 18+ volts on every pass and I had zero issues with an electrical component. Our dragster is the same set up, 16 volt with alternator and 18+ volts every pass. It has an electric shifter in it and zero issues.

The Moroso instructions for their valve has "12V ONLY" across the top of the page. Haven't heard of anyone else having a problem though. The accumulator valve is on constant for the most part. The shift valve is only ON for a split second and have never seen any indication that 16V is a problem with them. I would call the guy who supplied it or look at their information online just to verify.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

The only way a C02 shifter smacks harder is with more C02 pressure. 110-120 psi ought to do it. I supply 16V to activate the solenoid. I don't leave 16V on it then supply ground to activate. I've never had any problem with dual 16V batteries and no alt. with any electric component. I've been involved with some S/C dragsters that had accumulators on them with 16V and no problem ever with them. So the valve would go to the yellow wire on the MSD Digital 7 and the other wire to ???(where)

I used the small bottles for a few races. With the stop and shifter I went to the bigger bottle quickly. I have probably 6 small ones and a pair of 2.5lb ones as well as a mother bottle. But did not carry the mother bottle in the trailer. We used a small bottle in the dragster for the SLE. Stratus has a big bottle as it has SLE, Shifter, Shocks and Chutes all on air

10oz. bottle will run a shifter for a lot of runs. We ran a shifter and a stop charged in both directions. Would fill it every 40-50 runs and it wasn't close to being empty. You have to make sure the system doesn't have leaks. Don't overfill the bottle. It can get ugly.

I went to the big bottle so I could go all year and not worry about it. And yeah when those discs pop from the summer sun in the desert it will get your attention. Seen it happen a few times.

Dave can you explain why it would go to ground and not to the 16 volt side? When the desired RPM is hit, does the yellow wire have volts going thru it?
