mk_ OP mopar M Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 657 B.C.	I've been helping a friend with a 70 340 4 speed Swinger and it has a bench seat. It has a bracket on top of the hump by the shifter hole that I've haven't come across before. Would the factory have installed it be to keep the bench seat from sliding to far forward and interfere with the shifter?

I thought it was just a floor stiffening bracket? The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
