Running a flex fan with a 2" spacer. Fan is sitting just outside the shroud so I need another 1" to get it inside the shroud. I don't see a longer spacer out there. Can the spacers be stacked?

You should see if you can get some other type of fan,
those flex fans are notorious for coming apart at rpm

And aren't noted to be the best cooling fans out there either.

i agree with the above, but yes, you can stack them. if it wobbles, or it not running true, then the answer is no.

"they " say you can stack to three inches- no more. as far as flex fans coming apart, any fan can. good fans are all rpm rated. mine is rated to 10000 rpm!

for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

This is true, but I have seen(personally) 2 come apart
at a relatively low rpm... mine spit a blade at 6000
and a friends went at about 5600... If you dont want
to change it I have no problems BUT dont have you
head over it when you rev it up.

I was running the MP viscous fan kit but am trying this new one out to see if it cools better.

I have personally seen three flex fans come apart. One on a 6000+ RPM blast and the other two were on tow vehicles...

Man, of all the things to be killed by. I had one come apart on a SBC when I was maybe 18. It failed on the freeway, and it sounded like a hammer hitting a garbage can, bent or wobbled the pulley and threw the belt. Last one I owned, but man do they move some air.

Running flex fans for over 30 years.Never had any problems.I did have 2 factory fans break. My stainless is rated to 12K and been on for at least 15 years. My 440 runs at 180 allday even with a never touched 65 radiator.Ive seen more people have problems with clutch fans than any other type. One flex I ran on my jeep ran probally 70K and a lot of that was plowing snow and off road.Rocky
