I put a Holley “Terminator” throttle body system on an RV chassis with a bbc to replace the carb. This particular vehicle is used as a mobile command unit for the city of Milwaukee police department. They had problems with the combination of multiple users, and the fact that it was equipped with a manual choke. Not many people know how to use a manual choke anymore. I installed the kit. Very straightforward. It comes with a small hand held selector for initial setup. I’ve been doing efi installations since the 1990s. Never had such an easy install or such great results. The engine started right up, warmed up nicely. I did some rpm swings with it in and out of gear before driving it. I was blown away by how well it drove. It uses the Holley HP ecu as the control unit. The self tuning is amazing. I did all adjustments with the hand held selector, and it drove and felt perfect. After it was all set up and driving well, I did a data log with my laptop. The logs showed that it was running right on target. The only thing I changed with the laptop was decel fuel. The logs showed a bit of over fueling when coming to a stop. Nothing you could feel, but I felt cleaning up the decel would keep the wideband alive much longer. It’s been 3 years and have had no issues.
Another vote for Rich for sourcing your project.

Thinking on converting a 273-4,VooDoo hyd cam .494/.513,268/276, 3.91 gear 10" converter,headers,LD4B,AFB and a mechanical advance dist in a Dart to a more daily driver. Any thoughts on any of the carb-like EFI systems that will operate with my combo with the least problems, setting up and down the road? More and more of my customers are using FI Tech with great results.... Brian

I have only personally tuned the older ACCEL system and a Fitech system. My expiriance is the more I mess with them the more questions I would have when I purchase the next one. main question to ask is technical support. ACCEL used to have shops that were installers, they were the tech support and it was great. I learned more from youtube than the fitech technical support. I am an automotive tech so I understand electronic injection pretty well. Fitech uses obdII code numbers which is great, but they told me they do not publish parameters that set the codes, which pretty much is stupid. The drivers that operate their injectors are not robust, just a little to much fuel pressure and they overheat and shut down, setting codes. I would ask about how the ECM is protected from RF noise, stock systems have almost eliminated this issue, after market systems seem to be not spending the money. Once I figured out the Fitech system I am very happy with how it performs. No matter which system you buy, there will be a learning curve, how much you know about electronics, fuel maps, and how good the tech support can get you up to speed is the biggest deal. I use a scope diagnosing stock vehicles a lot, good and bad scope patterns on aftermarket systems is not something any company publishes and that is a long way from where their support should be.

If I were to do a TBI on something I would for sure go Holley. No personal experience but from what I have seen and word on the street that would be my choice. I see a 50/50 mix of bad and good with the fitech stuff.
