I really like the torque I got with this cam in my 416 stroker (502 ft lbs @ 4100 rpm's). I'm trying to put together a LA 360 with stock stroke crank, KB373 .030 over pistons, 70 cc J-heads/ 2.02-1.88 valves, specs were ok on my valve springs for this cam.
I want to use this cam in the solid lifter version since I already have adj rockers. This will be going in an A-body, 3.55 gears, 3500 stahl converter, 340 torker intake, 670 holley, headers, and street driven.
I havent purchased the pistons yet but looks like I'll achieve quench with the kb373's. The rest of the parts I already have.
One of my concerns is will I have enough vacuum for power brakes ? Will this cam have too much lift for the valve terrain I have ? Is it to radical for a street driven car ? Just wondering how this cam will act in stock stroke engine ?

If you have 10:1 compression or higher you may be ok, but I think with the 3.55:1 gears you might be better off with a slightly smaller cam.

i think you'll be fine but ya, 3.91's or steeper would be better.

Power brakes will work but realize your near the edge and if youre in traffic, a few pumps may get you. try a vacuum resevoir and you'll be fine. i run one like that and i just keep in my mind how much engine braking i do (it builds vacuum). I installed a vacuum gauge in my car so i know.

you'll like the cam. I like mine and mines 245/250. I want to go one step higher to a 250/260 or even a 260/265 but my compression is borderline (really below) what i should have for a bigger cam like that.

3.55's are going to keep the motor a couple 100 rpm away from its Happy place....If it were me I'd skip 3.91's and go to maybe a 4.10 or even a 4.30 combined with a slightly taller tire...that way you're netting both a deeper gear and more bite at the same time.

With AUTOMATICS I've had and seen too many motors that really didn't see a huge difference (in et OR mpg) between a 3.55 and a 3.91)....by jumping more than 10% overall you can fine tune with tire size.

were it me I would also ditch the 340 torker intake. Never have had much luck with it nor have many I know that have tried it. Think you would like the Airgap, RPM, or LD340 better.

Thanks for the input guys. I wanted to build a 408 this time but since I went way over budget on my 416, and the Barracuda (e-body) is still not finished I'm trying to use the parts I have on hand for the 360. Besides, the 416 was just scary in the Scamp.

I have a set of 4.10's but looking for a 3.91. Planning on using 4.10 in the e-body. My buddy is doing all the math on the comp. ratio and cam timing ( I think he really enjoys this part of the build). Thanks mr p body I'll let him know about degreeing the cam. I wasnt sure about the torker intake. It was on the motor when I got it. I do have an AG on my 416 . And I know there is no such thing as a cam being too big ! Just want to make it street friendly and not go crazy on HP since my 19 year old may occasionally drive it . Anymore advice would be great.

You should measure every chamber. Its unlikely they will all be that close.
