http://tinyurl.com/y9pbaea8Just a guess: peak power is up, idle quality and low speed response is down (needs more pump shot, richer primaries, smaller IAB). Mixture distribution probably worse than the original Edelbrock.

Don Dulmage from Canada milled down the divider a bit but not completely. Just 3/8" down. Search the net for "old reliable". 11.5x at 118mph the quarter mile with a 74 Charger.
@AndyF: I am surprised the CH-28 (I am running one) makes the peak HP at higher rpm than the RPM. Based on all the theories it should be the opposite. Is there any explanation for this?

I'm going with........ at wot the effective runner length of the CH-28 is shorter.

My guess: the single ran out of CFM so the solution to solve this "problem" would be a) intake with greater flow or b) a bigger carb (1000cfm is already big) or c) both? thanks! Dennis
