I just changed the stock Stromberg off my 318 in my 66 fury II. I installed a Holley 4412 2 brl.

Im trying to hookup the kickdown linkage properly and I am a bit confused. I THOUGHT that the linkage should only move at full throttle but looking at the service manual diagram it looks like the linkage moves basically the entire time you move the throttle. Is this right? I want to make sure i set it up right. Anyone have a stock setup picture? (My car wasnt set up right when I got it).

Hold your throttle wide open and adjust the linkage so it pushes the kickdown all the way back.Now take the car for a drive if it shifts properly leave it alone.But if it revs to high before shifting,shorten the linkage till you get your shift points where you want them. Good luck

The correct way is to adjust at curb idle with the slot at the rear of the adjusting swivel just contacting the throttle shaft pin.Since you have the diagram,you should also have the instructions.

Yes that is correct. It moves all the time. It should always contact the carb. Usually you have a spring pull it forward so it sits against the arm on the carb.
