All,
Car is a ‘72 Demon, stock body, 275/60/15 in rear.
Looking to purchase front tires soon, looking for recommendations.
It will be streetable, but will race mostly.
I have Billet Specialties 15x3.5 wheels, looking to hear what would work Best and how a 26” or 28” tire would look, so pics of Demons/Dusters/Dart Sports would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks all!!

Wally.

Don't think a 28 will fit .
I have 26's on mine .
I think if you could find a 27 that would work.

I went with the M/T Sportsman S/R 26x6.00 R15LT on my 71 mounted on 15x3.5 Champion rims. Pretty sure a 28 requires fender mods to fit without rubbing and probably hit the rail at full lock.

28" tall will work if you trim the bottom forward corner of the wheel opening. How much depends on wheel offset. I've been able to do this with shears and only needing to touch up the trimmed edge. Taller front tire is a rollout advantage @ the starting line. My old SS car is that way, tires don't hit anything, even the header tubes that route through the aprons.

You can run the taller(27or28) tires on the Duster by raising the torsion bar adjustments up with the proper wheel offsets work Which limits the front end travel amount upwards shruggy
Not sure about the Demon front fenders confused

So on a car I'm planning on running mid 11's with, what would be more important,
Roll out or front end travel?

I wish the was one easy answer to this question, there isn't whiney shruggy
What is good for me may not be what you like the best work
Tell us more about your car, class and racing style shruggy
Do you like two foot wheelies or two inch wheelies shruggy
I use to help a friend race his NHRA 340 Demon stocker E/SA that red lighted a bunch with two foot wheelies with 90/10 front shocks, we put on a set of early Monroe stock 50/50 front shocks that I had and that stop the red lighting and lower the wheelies to 2 to 3 inches on the left front, he hated that and went back to his way confused
He red lighted on the first round at the Winternationals that year work shruggy

BTW, I tend to tune for the best reaction times and best 60 ft. times shruggy

I Want two feet wheelies!!!! boogie
No, honestly looking for consistent 60' times and reaction times.
With the car about to get paint, I really don't want to hack up the fender at all, so I think I answered my own question when that was an option for the 28" tire.
Car is an auto, mid 11's, SS springs, good shocks - nothing too crazy, I'm probably over - thinking it.

Here's mine w/ 165R15 tires (25" tall) up front and 28x10.5 slicks on the rear. No motor in the car in the pic so not real good for comparison.
I'd use 26" tall tires up front.
