EQ heads. seal guide metal nub OD machined to .534" for my inner springs. Found a set of "2 ring rubber" seals on the shelf & their ID is ~.461" measured with plastic HF calipers. I can fit one on the nub & it "feels" pretty tight/secure then I worked the valve stem up in it & it seemed "moderately" tight. Does it sound like I am OK here? the seals are EOK 125 & I googled them & got the "EOK" company but no listing for the EOK 125 that is cast/raised on the seal. should I superglue/epoxy em in place? & as far as fitment I obviously want em to stay in place & not too much or too little oil allowed to the stem. frequent replacement is a non issue. thank you for your time.

Oh I think you are dead on, as I have never heard of that either (which begs the Q, where did I come up with it!) but I have never done PC types & I want it trouble free. EDIT I am most worried that the stem to seal fit may be too tight as I dont know the app/dimentions for these seals as I dont want to starve the stem for oil but if there is enough splash in that area??? it might be a non issue but the similar seal description in the Goodsen catalogue made mention of metering an amt of oil.

All those type seals are design to be fitted, pressed onto a certain size O.D. valve guide boss, they come in 3/8,11/32 and 5/16 guide sizes as well as miilmeter for the other type motors.they come in multiple inner I.D. also, .629,.530,500 and several different O.D. on the seals so they fit into the inner valve springs sizes. They usually have a plastic sleeve for installing them that goes over the keeper grooves so they don't get torn up. I buy them from Goodson, maybe look there for yours Good luck and Merry Christmas

Cab actually the page in Goodsens that has a pic of the three different types is where I saw that mine are the "2 piece ring and rubber". they appear to fit snug on the head steel nub & good reminder on the installation sleeve as I have seen that piece before & if I cannot find it I will use some scotch tape instead. I'm mostly worried that the valve stem may be too tight thru the seal ID hole & not let enough lube past. these seals do adequately clear the inner mini springs ID.

Cab did they come apart or come up off the nub or get loose around the stem?

They harden up and quit wiping the oil off of the stems is what my customers told me I had a set do that to me, oil running down the exhaust valve stems into the ports The new viton seals have a steel body with soft rubber, maybe viton on the inside of the body to retain the seal on the guides, they work way better than those earlier Teflon ones like your picture shows

Why not go to your local auto parts store and get a set for any magnum sb? the factory seals work fine and save you money and time.

^^^ that is an excellent idea & it didn't cross my mind (for some reason). I've heard (unfounded) rumors that I like to complicate things. I might go ahead & use these on the stock car cuz it will be limited run time & I dont want em to go to waste then go ahead & get a set of OE's per your suggestion for the mags on an upcoming DD. An particular year/eng I should ask for?

& I forgot something, on these EQ's the inner spring ID is .711" so on these or a similar head the std type umbrella seal OD would need to clear.
