I Have a 71 340 4 speed Demon, stock block, engine mounts, bell housing, and transmission. It was a running driving car when I bought it but the clutch was getting tired. Not many miles on it, under 1,000, probably far less but previous owner drove the wheels off of it so a worn clutch is no surprise. So I decided to change out the clutch this week, same style McCloud clutch, all new stuff.
When I disassembled the old stuff I noticed that the adjuster rod nut was only a few threads away from the un-threaded part of the rod. When I installed all of the new parts I had the same issue, only a few threads showing between the smooth end of the rod and the nut before the TO bearing started making contact with the fingers.
There has to be a simple fix to this? Maybe a B-body adjuster rod? A different Z-bar?
The previous owner said he had to modify the Z-bar for clearance per TTI's instructions but he doesn't recall exactly what was modified.
Any help appreciated

Scott, i'm using the stock fork in a scattershield. The nut on mine is near the end of the threaded part of the rod. I had to shorten the arm on the bellcrank that the adjustment rod attaches to with the TTI's. I have a mccloud borg and beck pressure plate. My adjuster rod appears to be different (shorter).

I just went and looked at it. It looks like I shortened the adjusting rod. I cut the rod and put both ends inside of a piece of tubing and welded it back together after I got it the right length.

mine is angled on the front as well. I didn't clock the arm differently, just shortened it. Just putting the 4 speed back in the car, Had a 904 behind this engine. Looks like It should work
