Are they generics? Found one AuVeCo part number that LOOKS right but is nearly twice as big according to dim's I found online.

Anyone have the Mopar part#

Close but not the same. Theres actuall a Ford clip that is VERY similar but its much larger. What stinks is the AuVeCo clips are $10 for 50 or 20 cents each. Year One is $4.95 each, most other places are $1.50each. Dealer still lists them even. And Tom at R/T has them at the best price, $1 each but I need a BUNCH.

What's that mean?

I just did rubber splash shields for a guy with a 65 Fury. The things take 28 clips. Even at ONE DOLLAR each my pricing would be outrageous. Just the clips would be more that what the other guys sell thier crappy splash shilelds WITH clips.

Like I said, AuVeCo sells the clips for 20cents each. Thats bearable. Would add $5.60 of COST to my splash shileds. Year One's $4.95ea is shameful.

I agree Alan, 10,000 SOUNDS like a lot but thats only a few hundred cars. I actually asked for qoutes on 50 and 100K.

I may do all rusty steel like OEM and have a small batch for people like me who wish EVEYTHING was stainless.

Jim no disrespect meant - it means catering to 2 percent of the crowd.
Trust me 98% of the people don't care if it's dead nuts exact or not. Most people buy based on price not how 'correct' it is.
If you can provide a correct clip and shields kit for the same price as the other guys, You MAY be ok.

No harm Bill.

But I disagree. If I can provide a better fitting product at similar cost, even if a bit more, seems like most people don't mind paying more for better quality. (Not saying I can make a better shaped clip but the SS would be a nice touch - I'll probably just do a portion in SS - I'm just looking to save $ AND have the stuff made in the STATES) The gentleman I did ALL the 65 Fury III gaskets for was so pleased he asked if I would do the A arm and torsion bar shields cause the ***** ones he bought fit so poorly.

This is not to say that the people at ***** are bad people but HOW does a company get to be as big as an ***** or ******* and put out such CRAP? I bought 100 pcs of a/c heater box insulation from ***** for 3 different models because I figured why reinvent the wheel. The fit was SO BAD, the insulation was too thick, and the black facing was punched on the wrong side on 200 of the 300 pieces!!!!! I now have to import a small truck load of custom insulation from Canada so I can cut it myself. The fit is actually better than OEM. The thickness and density are much closer and it's CUT correctly with the black facing on the right side. AND even with the huge import fees it's still less than I was paying *****.
