I remember 15 years ago I raced a Mustang with a 440 in it--named the . "MOTANG" so it cuts across all lines I remember that car wasn't he a member here? Never herd how fast the Motang ended up running. Lets just say we all love HP and cars and on this site we all Really love Mopars best but hey--older I get the more open I am about most everything in life don't no your age but me (in my upper 50's )feel time is getting short ,not enough time to be hunting for parts to get a power plant up and running. _________________________ I have always had a fascination with fast cars at the expense of more normal character development

Serious question, not trying to be a crap slinger.
If a person wanted a big inch, low maintenance, consistent, reliable engine with 170MPH horsepower in a sub-2500lb car, and not need to be worked on for several hundred runs, they could call R-M and have one, with all new parts, in their driveway in a few days for a little over 20k.
If I wanted the same thing using a Mopar based wedge engine, who do I call, what will it cost, how long will I wait and what block will I use?
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

That is the joy and accomplishment of building a Mopar, you get to figure that out for yourself instead of writing a check. Anybody with the bank roll can write a check for the Chevy. You need at least some skills and or talent to put it all together with a Mopar.

Picture is how I bet you all must be feeling about this thread
Like I said, beautiful car. Disappointing but understandable on engine choice. Wish I could find the pics of my friends '55 Chevy w/ a 440 and long-tube 413 cross-ram on it. Tim

When I built my 434 I got to talk to several great guys who were willing to share their wealth of knowledge and experience. I like figuring out and building stuff, to me it's the most enjoyable part of it. If I were a check writer I'd just take up golf, buy the latest greatest clubs, some funny looking pants and grin like I had good sense.......Sounds really boring doesn't it?

I can't stop.. Going back to the first couple of posts he says, I wanted a strong reliable engine that's cheap, but then went on to say he spent a lot of $$ in that engine. Well why not a BAE engine, are they not strong enough? Put that twin turbo on that engine and I think it'll hold up and make 2-4000 hp (all those top alcohol, Top Fuel, Funny cars sure think they're pretty good). Like one said, he took the misconception, easy way out. Heck I saw one BAE engine of Racing Junk for $7500 less intake-blower. What's more impressive between those fenders BAE or a ho-hum Chevy.

Not a wedge but doesnt the hellcat crate & accessories fit that bill? Nope. Big inch = 550"-632". Whatever I can do with a stock bore space deal. Carbureted. I've never had an engine built for me. Trust me, I've had some things I had to figure out. I can and would rather do it myself. I have guys who can do the machining. Assume I'm a purist and am willing to spend the money to either buy the parts and do it myself or have someone do it for me. Go.

Very cool build, should scoot fairly well.
Looking at new power plants for my dart, the G3 is tempting, but I started working for the General 2 weeks ago, so maybe I will end up with an LS haha
