New best last night.. still having problems getting enough fuel through this carburetor. The largest jet that I have is a 164. I know it wasn't the right thing to do but changed to a tiny high-speed air bleed. Trying to accommodate the fuel needs of the motor. The carburetor was not designed for the application it's being used. despite afr's in the high 13s and low 14s.. still managed to rip off a pair of low forties. These small block Mopars are amazing

Nice work, you have been chipping away at it and it shows. Is it still on e85? no unfortunately my love for E85 has been put on hold.. just couldn't get where we needed to be with that fuel many signs of detonation. Course we did manage to squeeze 5.60 at123 out of it.. at 3060 lb.. so it is capable of making lots of power..

I won't talk about the Dyno numbers.. because they're meaningless.. according to Wallace it's making 906hp based on ET.. we're hoping to squeeze 5.30s out of it tomorrow at Mooneyes..

That is seriously cool, most over here can only get near that with 572+ cubes at that weight .....I think your under estimating the power in that thing, Wallace for me says its 949hp> Power to Weight Ratio: 3.22 60 Foot E.T. : 1.20 1/8 Mile E.T. : 5.43 1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 125.18

Might be your last blast at Irwindale..... wish I could be there From a VERY good source I know Irwindale may stay open w/new ownership since the guy now hasn't paid rent in ages so time will tell and I'm shooting for next Thu. myself since we didn't make it this week...........So cal started the Drag Racing trend but it looks like it moved back East where they race several times a week and pack em in............

Also running a very small pinch on The Collector to help accelerate the car sooner.. looking at the race pack stuff my fuel pressure is all the way down to one lb of pressure. In high gear that's why it's not charging down track.. I think I'm going to skip the 5:30 and go right for the five 20s.. I have to stay faster than my cylinder head guy. Because he has has too many gears

28 quick fuel 400 pump.. and then with approximately 10 or 12 ft of aluminum Hardline half inch to the to the regulator after that 2-6 lines to the carburetor.. basically the entire system is not up to standard for what I'm doing.. it will be getting upgraded shortly

As far as the carburetor is concerned.. it was built for c25... and set up for an engine that is completely different from mine.. then top it off I'm running oxygenated race fuel.. which just seems to piss the carburetor off...

That system should work........what micron pre filter and maybe the reg is acting up or something........... Is that a BG 400..........If so, maybe time to step up cos those have created real issues for most everyone I know..........

As far as the carburetor is concerned.. it was built for c25... and set up for an engine that is completely different from mine.. then top it off I'm running oxygenated race fuel.. which just seems to piss the carburetor off... with all that said, it still ain't a slouch. this is the run that went with that tanks that I see 12.5 volts do u run an alternator............

A customer recently dynoed a carb I did and at 6400 it started loosing fuel pressure and going lean due to the big pump needing more volts so he added an alt and haven't heard back.......If that 12.5 is the voltage at 7100 rpm's, then the battery isn't cuttin it imo............

The pump and the MSD race ignitions can suffer from low voltage Maybe it is time for two 16 V batteries or a big amp alternator I saw a slight ET(.003 to .004) and MPH loss(.17 to.2 MPH) on my old M.W. stocker by turning off the alternator feed before the runs with a charged up battery on back to back runs three times When your chasing every bit, a thousands can make a difference

that would be interesting Shiloh concerning that new battery. Does the voltage stay there during the pass? considering I have set the bypass and the regulator pressure at that voltage It should be fine.. I have a lot of sharp bins in the fuel line. And possibly some restrictive fittings..

I will check with quick fuel in the morning to see if I'm meeting the voltage requirements.. but they're definitely will not be an alternator on this anytime soon

I was reading the leaf spring thread from last year and youāve definitely gotten things figured out seeing your 60ās in the sub 1.2x range. Congrats on the gains. What changes ultimately got you there? Thicker front and rear spring segments? Shocks?
Thanks again for sharing your progress! we're still running the lowering blocks and the heavier rear segment.. nothing has really changed except for shock settings. And more power.. however I'm in the process of getting rid of the lowering blocks and maintaining the same height

I will check with quick fuel in the morning to see if I'm meeting the voltage requirements.. but they're definitely will not be an alternator on this anytime soon Its not just the fuel pump/pumps you need to worry about but the ignition systems as well. At 12.5 volts funny things can start to happen. Your at the edge/cliff with that new batt, maybe that 12,5 volt reading was after several runs. the ignition system in this car will tell me if there's an issue regarding low voltage.. it seems to hold very well at 12.5 volts..

Correction, That would be the Minimum correct voltage for that pump. Not the Correct voltage.. 12.5 minimum or higher is recommended. That's why its working. Like I stated your on the Edge. Was just pointing that out for you. Not sure I would be comfortable with that as I said before.

Anti-gravity gave me two batteries.. I could very easily add the second one.. the tech told me I have plenty of voltage and More Voltage isn't the answer for fixing a fuel system that was built for a 10 second car.. me putting an alternator on my car would be equivalent to you putting a Carter on yours makes absolutely no sense.. all in fun I know you're just poking.. in all honesty if the system was where it needed to be and I didn't have fuel I might entertain the thought.. but right now my fuel system is in very poor condition

Would you consider a new fuel pump/system? And ya, playing w/ya although no real loss in wt or power imo................Your car is amazing and when you get it sorted out and can over fuel it, SHE WILL FLY even more..........

I think it is time to consider moving the fuel system up to the front of the car...Car is accelerating well and IMO it would be a beneficial change..If you truly have only 1-2lbs of fuel pressure up top that will be ALOT of your AFR issue no doubt. IMO switching to a better pump when you move the stuff up front will be a good change as well. IMO Weldon is the best stuff out there hands down. Car is working well..Would love to see a driveshaft graph for sure. Looks like by the RPM graph you could use a little converter tune up too, but without the driveshaft hard to say for sure. But it looks like you have a fair amount of shift drop and there is a definite "lag" after the hit and at the shift... Great lap for sure..I am sure that Yellow Mustang is scared and we all know that little Chevy II was crappin his drawers

That driveshaft RPM is ugly at the hit really. It LOOKS like it unloading but without seeing the G force with it hard to confirm. That DS RPM line is pretty jumpy down track so could just be an issue with the pick up. Is it a 2,4 or 8 magnet pickup? The G meter will tell a lot more of the story with that info. See if it is more linear and not as "jumpy". If it is then those "waves" in the DS RPM could just be a sensor issue.
That RPM drop is killing ET for sure. Also the RPM line shows the car slowing at the hit. Dragging the engine RPM way down after the initial hit. Likely also a converter thing. Get that line more linear without the drop and straighten that DS rpm line out and you will find a fair amount of ET...
One other thing I didn't mention earlier in reference to the fuel pressure. I would want to confirm the reading on a gauge as well. Sometimes racepak sensors can be not so happy. With fuel pressure that low I'd want to make sure

Unfortunately I only have A 2 magnet coupler.. which gives me that big jump at the hit... the bumps at the end is the track... it is horribly rough the last hundred feet

Well you know what the Vette makes for power and where we are at ET wise.
The good news is from what I see there you have definite room for improvement for sure.
Check that driveshaft ring to make sure it is not hitting anything. But from what I see those DS and G meter lines line up to well to not be an issue traction/suspension wise. Maybe topping out the shocks, or leafs...
