Sadly, the Eddy heads leave a LOT to be desired.
Remember the Engine Masters video where they ran the 408 Ford/Mopar engines?
Dulcich later ported the Mopar heads and gained nearly 100 hp.

Dulcich later ported the Mopar heads and gained nearly 100 hp. Yeah, but the op made no mention of stroking the motor. Eddie RPM heads flow more than enough to feed 340 cubes and will easily meet the stated HP goals.

For that build, the Sidewinder heads are perfect. Built to your specs ( as needed) better quality hardware, and less money, with a better casting.

Mopar performance heads are like the edelbrock but have the stock plug angle. That will make it easier to find headers that fit. If you know someone that works at Chrysler they get a discount on parts just like on cars. That's a big block head deal.

( I'm retired Chrysler just trying to keep the checks coming.)

Choices for aluminum smallblock heads are few:
Listing from low$ to high$.
ProComp (Speedmaster) are the least expensive especially if you start with the bare heads and build them yourself. Although many will tell you that Speedmaster = Chinese junk, the casting in the last few years has improved in quality. Valve guides and valve job will need checking out after you buy the other components.
Sidewinder These heads start out with a high quality Chinese casting and are assembled by Marsh Racing, used to be called Moparts Racing. Owner is Todd Marsh, known on this board as Sasquatch. These heads will be custom made to your specs, meaning you have to confer with Todd to get what you need. He (or staff) assembles the heads with name brand parts. Clearances and valvejobs are correct. These are the only aluminum heads that come totally ready to run, no need to take them to the machine shop to check stuff.
ProMaxx These heads start out with the same casting as Sidewinder. A different company builds them and they are available from Summit and Jegs, etc. I seem to remember that this is the same group of guys who make Patriot heads for other engine brands. The disadvantage over the Sidewinders is, Promaxx costs more and you have no assurances the heads are ready to run.
Edelbrock These heads are very good but you pay more to get an American casting. They need to be looked at to be completely sure but there have been many bolted on out of the box with complete success. Available in both Magnum and LA configurations.
That's it AFAIK. Any of these heads will make 500hp with no port work. All of these heads have CNC programs already developed that will increase flow by quite a bit. Despite all the B$ floating around, they are all decent heads.
The value leader has got to be Sidewinder. Next to lowest price, hand assembled and checked, using name brand parts, what's not to like?
When looking at prices be sure to price a pair of heads. A couple of manufacturers price heads each.
R.

No doubt the TrickFlow heads will be primo. For half the price, though, the Sidewinders will make 500hp just as easily. Edelbrocks are $1370 a pair. R.
