I finally had some time to start moving on this 470. Lot’s of TLC went into getting the Victor heads right. I will most likely go with Trickflow on these builds moving forward until Edelbrock can get these heads right. The Hughes rockers used for this build installed nicely without too much drama other than having to remove additional material from the Victors push rod holes on the intakes to get proper clearance for the Trend 3/8’s push rods. The biggest battle I had with this build was fitting the Mopar fab aluminum valve covers. These valve covers look great but don’t even come close to fitting. A joke at best and that in an understatement. The four long bolt tubes on the valve covers all had to be cut larger along with several tweaks and cutting to the valve cover rails to properly clear the rocker arms. They look cool but they are not for the person who thinks they can just bolt them on. The Perforer RPM intake required a gasket match. Lot’s of material had to be removed to get the ports right. I also removed lot’s of material from the divider and plenum Next post will be some fully assembled picks before dyno and delivery to the awaiting 1970 Roadrunner.

I would not use those springs with that rocker. J.Rob

Dual Plane moving that much air can have lean cylinders at higher RPM and lots of times some good old staggered jetting can cure it Looks like fun!

look's good,,what dist are you going to run and did you ensure you are going to have clearance for it? I bough a set of nice looking fab vc's and they were the most ill fitting things I have ever tried to use and with a MSD dist there was no way they were going to work.

Yep,
I will be running a pro billet MSD. I’ve already test fit it. Very little wiggle room indeed. I ended up using the no logo Indy cast vc's not nearly as pretty but had some meat to work with, now the hedman fenderwell headers and those VC's were another nightmare. LOL

Nice Dave. Is the valley tray home made ? what thickness ? A thin flat one that I had would always break the seal with vibration and leak.
