Putting Challenger away for winter. Does it hurts the tires to set on them during the winter or should I put car on jack stands ? ?

I like some kind of support so the car isn't sitting on the tires. But that's just me.

I usually put the max pressure in the tires and let the car sit on the tires. If you check the sidewall most tires will have a max of 40 or more psi.

On my 69 RR I put jack stands under the rear next to the springs on the rear axle shafts and the front wheels on ramps and every other week or so I rotate the front wheels.

I use to put my cars on jack stands for winter storage every year, but I started to get lazy and about 15 years ago I stopped doing so. I really never noticed any difference before or after. I'm sure it won't hurt doing so. Just remember to keep your suspension under load.

If you are worried about flat spotting the tires you can pull them off and have the car sit on hubstands. The hubstands bolt to the wheel hub so the car sits on the suspension. The car is very stable this way and your tires can be stored on a rack or shelf.

What's wrong with resting the springs?

I do not think the springs mind the rest. For the bushings, another question. Unloaded they are in extreme jounce condition. Likely to tear during storage or soon after when everything is at normal height.

Unibody cars should be supported by the suspension. If you put jackstands under the frame stubs then the ends of the car will bend down. You'll have fewer problems if you just support the car the way it is designed to be supported. Either leave the wheels and tires on or use hubstands in the front. In the rear you can put jackstands under the rear axle.

As I said earlier, I don't bother pulling the wheels. Just fill the tires full of air and if you want to roll the car forward 6 inches once a month then do that.

15 years or storing mine on the tires and no problems yet.
