Anyone use a inline filter on their external wet sump system before the pump?
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

What micron filter do you use? do you use the one with a by pass or without? also noticed that they have filters for use with dry sump, what would be the difference?

hemi-itis, basically the same as you. I have a single line external set up . As you, I want to filter the oil before the pump. Reason is my buddy just ruined his engine from a a broken lifter wheel, sent pieces of needle bearings into the pump which ground them up so fine they went through the Fram filter and though the complete system . I was looking at the Peterson 09-0408-12an. It's the filter with the 90 on the end which would screw onto the fitting coming out of the pan. I guess i'm looking for what micron to use and why a dry sump would be different than a wet as oil is pulled through each. Or is it that Peterson in their description didn't think anyone would use it in a wet sump external line .

With a wet sump, the pre-filter only catches anything large enough to jam the rotors in the pump. The filter does the filter-ing,,,,,,IMO a NON-bypass filter should be used like the JO-MAR that can also flow good numbers! When I used the FRAM-HP with a Milodon pump,it would be in bypass mode and not filter doodleysquat.
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!
