I'm putting (old-style) Pro Parts RB headers in my '69 Barracuda. They are bare steel. Should I spend the $$$ to have them Jet-Hot coated, or is there a high-quality header paint available?

how long do you want them to look good? if 2-3 months is ok use either bbq paint or the vht stuff is good too. if you want them too look great for a couple years spend 190$ and get em coated.

nitrous is like a really hot chick with an std you want to hit it but youre affraid of the outcome.

I used the VHT paint on bare headers and they still look decent after 2 years, put 3 thin coats and heat them with a torch after each coat. Make sure the headers are clean!!!
I will coat mine when I get some extra money.

Take those new tubes to Nitroplate and have them coated right!! As a plus, they are in Nashville,so you won't have to send them.

I thought jet coating was alot more than $190? Anyway, if your looking for a cheap great solution, go with Eastwoods header paint, awesome stuff. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=734&itemType=PRODUCT This is the color I used, but they have others. Alot of people have used this with great success

Nitroplate's website estimate for multi-piece V8 race headers is $330...
