9.20 deck, I thought the compstars were only rated for 7500 rpm?

I'm using stock 340 bushed rods with ARP bolts in my 625HP small block 383 dirt track engine. That's what was in it when I bought the engine however they will not take cold starts with heavy 50W oil... the resulting carnage proves that.
I really like the I-beam Oliver and Crower rods... good stout pieces. Mu buddies have used them in their engines for three seasons without a failure. Carillo's are also good.
I'm using some used NASCAR Pankl rods in my Gen 3 build when I get to it. The have small, lightweight pins and a narrow Honda big end. Weigh in the range of 450 grams IIRC. The nice thing is the price... you can find them on Fleabay for $125/a set or less. Good stuff.
I was going to use a set in my LA engine but I didn't want the expense of repairing my damaged crank ($300) plus the cost of grinding the rod journals to Honda size plus having the nitriding done, too... another $250.00.

My old W5 motor saw 7500 at the stripe for years with the Compstars. Pretty sure they are still in the shortblock to this day Best machine told me they really liked them when we were talking about rod choices. Took Arrow billet rods out they didnt like.

Call Molnar, the 416 in my car has Molnar H beams in it. We gave him the piston wieght to get a peak RPM out of curiousity and he told us 8800. I don't recall the piston weight, the pistons are light but nothing exotic at all.
