So has anybody ran a o ringed block with cometic mls gaskets? Is there a way to do it? It's already a short deck so milling the deck is not a option I want to do, my w9's are not o-ringed

Just fill the grooves with JB weld and file them smooth.

My R1 is o ringed and I removed it and run a fel pro 1008 with no issues.

That's the problem, it's already a 9.20 deck height and I don't want to mill it anymore

I've done it many times and never had a failure.

One thing is where they put the groove. If it's out of the fire ring you may get lucky and not have to do anything to the grooves.

I just fill them off and get them flat. It's just easier.

All I did was remove the o ring, the grooves are still there.

So you still have the groves just without the oring? Is that with cometic gaskets?

I used fel pro, but see no reason why cometics wouldn't work fine if the deck finish is right.

What's wrong with putting a receiver groove in the heads to match the O rings on the block?
Is this a ten head bolt block or 18 bolt block?
