I have just brought in a project from one of those horrible "restos gone bad" kinda deals. I am looking at a poorly painted, absolutely gutted shell with some new trim parts installed. Planning on removing some of the shop's work, including suspension and brakes, and going with all new stuff there. There is no dash, no interior, no engine, trans, crossmember, etc. but that stuff doesn't really bother me. What I am really looking for is proper routing of factory style harness, assembly drawings for dashboard area, any type of engineering drawings that would help put the puzzle back together. I am not going concours here, trickflow 493 and vintage air, but I want the car to be put back correctly. Thanks for any help in the right direction.

The Factory Service Manual will be a huge help with your project. It has several drawings of the wire routings, and lots of other info that I'm sure you'll find useful. You'll probably also want to join the E-Bodies.org forum. Their reference section includes a lot of useful info, and it's still growing. https://www.e-bodies.org/resources/

Well if you're not the owner it doesn't really matter but there are two body stampings that should match the last 8 digits of the vin. These are located under the hood. One is on the cowl, driver's side, up near the windshield near the vent cover, the other is on the radiator support, driver's side, next to the top tank of the rad.
They are used to ID that the chassis matches the other documents, but of course a LOT of sheet metal could be replaced.
Doesn't sound like there are "numbers issues" with this car. Good luck!
