I would like to know if anyone here has any experience with Summit brand electric exhaust cutouts. I am considering buying a set and see they have a 5 star rating but there are only 5 reviews so I thought I would ask here. Thanks.

No exp to share but 5 stars in 5 reviews sounds good (but I always wondered if those type of postings were legit), but they very well could be. I would ask about Summits return policy if there is an issue or defect & from the amt of business we members here do with them I'm sure people have feedback on that.

If you have ever left a review at Summit, they do verify that you actually bought the item from them before you can review it.

I've had a recent issue with them.
Not their fault either.
I ordered a pair of wheels and they came with the wrong bolt pattern.
The box said it was right, but the wheels were not.
I had tires mounted with out checking the wheels.
The invoice on the box read,
"Attention, before mounting any tires make sure the wheels fit the car. If you mount them you own them."
I did not even read the invoice until after the fact.
My wheels came with the wrong bolt pattern.
Summit is taking them back anyway and sending the correct wheels.
The wheels came from Crager so Summit had no control on what was shipped. They are still making things right for me. They did not have to. Top notch outfit. up

^^^ that would for sure make me wanna keep doing business with them. They ain't stupid, they know we have 24K+ members here & that is alot of potential business (& word of mouth is powerful). Same with RockAuto, they sent me some new gaskets ASAP without asking for any confirmation/pics/proof of the damaged ones that arrived. To their credit their prices are very reasonable & turnaround is fast (never an issue on multiple orders).

I ordered a XE cam for my 318 and ended up with the SBC version of what I ordered, they took it back no sweat, but were OOS on the one I ordered.

Wonder if some parts puller figured "parts is parts".

I've ran my cut-outs for 7 summers now and about 16,000 miles. I noticed the LH one doesn't close all the way and stay there recently. I'm over the attraction and will just put caps over mine and remove the electric cutouts... twocents
Like any other novelty item the attraction wears off... shruggy

The Summit ones are the butterfly type and will eventually leak. The best design are from Doug's headers with a sliding gate driven by a reduction motor...
More $ but higher quality...

Just my $0.02... wink

I had the Doug's electric cutouts on my 67 and loved them.

I bought them from Maryland Speed, they had the best price that I could find at that time.

For comparison.

The Summit ones.

The prices are similar, only $10 difference between them.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Might have been the case.
The boxes labels matched what I ordered.
The contents did not. shruggy

I once for guy that would always ship the wrong thing if he was out.
I asked him why and he said better to send the wrong thing than nothing.
I disagreed then and still do.
Wasn't happy when I found out,
However I surely appreciate the service.

I have dougs and they quit working after a few times (like the third time I used them) then they work again, its random, usually have to decide if you want them open or closed as they get stuck in whatever position their in when hot. I'd look somewhere else
