What trans cooler would you all recommend for a street/strip car?

I've noticed there are a couple different designs out there. Which one cools better?

I have always used the style shown in the bottom picture. I believe B&M sells the one you show in your top pic. I bet either would be fine.

Evan...I use the top one on all cars I've ever built I have had a few issues with the bottom style. Also the top one will fit real nice with the frame work for your radiator support like mine.If your coming to the March Meet look me up again so you can steal my mounting of that cooler too.....LOL

the top unit is a multi pass cooler, that means zero restriction. the bottom unit drops the pressure at each 180* bend the fluid has to go around. the top unit is high performance, the bottom unit isn't. i used to make coolers like to bottom unit & when cold that bottom unit would creat a 30 psi restriction on oil flow.

I want to emphasize that the car will see a lot of street time, so I want the best cooling I can get. The whole pressure drop thing is new to me. I didn't realize that. Maybe the top plate style is the way to go. I'll just get the biggest one they make.

Ron, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just borrowing some ideas. Wait till you see my fan set-up. BTW, we'll definitely stop by your camp again at the MM.
