5.2 in a '92 D-150, I've narrowed it down to being an ignition problem, not fuel. Wondering whether anyone can give some helpful hints? I replaced the coil before this problem began because of occasional hard-starting issues, haven't put the old coil back yet. There's no obvious problem in sight so ?????
Thanks

Ummm, no, to be honest, I didn't remember when the OBD system began! I'll try that in the morning. Gettin' old, gettin' tired..............

OBDI was in effect for the 92 Ram, just cycle This should also work for your truck https://www.allpar.com/fix/codes/index.html

Thanks My 92 d150 had similar issues. It was giving random codes. It turned out the computer was failing. Replaced that and it ran great. However, before I found it was the computer, I replaced the coil, wires, cap, rotor, injectors.....

Question A: How do you determine it's the computer? Question B: Where do you get a replacement computer? May be a stupid question, but that's not an issue that I've ever ran into before so it's new territory.

Same problem with my 90..Ended up being the computer. Bought a used one at the pic and pull. Just make sure you get the same part # thats in your truck now.

It's just a plug-in situation, doesn't have to be 'flashed' by a dealer?

I got mine through NAPA. A mechanic friend of mine help so I don't know the details for a 92 on what information you need to give, if any.

Thanks everyone for your help. I looked at RockAuto earlier this morning & their rebuild service looks reasonable, haven't pulled this computer out yet to check the serial number. I have a connection at NAPA so I'm gonna look there as well, see if the cost compares. Thanks again.

Don't assume the computer is the problem.
Determine what the problem is first. Runt eh codes, see what, if anything they are.

Yeah, good advice, especially since all of the listings I find are for Automatics with Cali emissions or high altitude, neither of which apply to this truck.
