Just put my valve train together. Herbert lifts and cam, comp pushrods, Jesel paired rockers on Indy -1 max wedge heads. The intake pushrods just kiss at the bottom of the head at lift. Already kicked the rocker shafts over as much as possible. I could hand file the bottom of the head a little for clearance, but I noticed that if I get some offset lifters, it will also straighten out the pushrod angle at the same time. Who makes offset roller lifters for a reasonable price? My rockers now are permanently attached to the tie bar. Can I order four left, four right and eight centered lifters with a removable tie bar or do they have to be special ordered and assembled.

It's very unlikely any offset lifters you got would have the same pushrod seat height as the Herbert lifters.........meaning new pushrods will likely be required.

5/16" or 3/8" push rod? The push rod tends to be a little different length if you're not using the offset lifters. I had a little witness mark on all my 5/16" intake pushrods when I had the head repaired. Angie cleaned up that area a little bit on the head. I would go that way. If the cam is say, .700 or less, you really shouldn't need the offset roller lifters.

I use the Comp AMC offsets with 440-1 up
I think Comp also offers them in the regular Mopar type solid rollers for the same pushrod cup heights, maybe not the same as your Herberts though scope

I bought the whole top end setup used. 3/8" comp pushrods. Worked out perfect length. Only about 2-3 threads down on the adjusters. Top of threads level with jamb nuts, for anyone familiar with Jesel paired rockers. Can't even install pushrods by loosening adjuster. Have to remove rockers to get pushrod ball under cup. Just a slight kiss/witness mark getting close to max lift. About .015" clearance to side of wall with lifter at base.

The "correct" adjuster screw setting for Jesel rockers is one turn down from fully seated.

Hmmm. work
That doesn't sound good, especially for a spray bar oiling setup. Might be time for new pushrods, and/or lifters.

It won't have any affect on oiling. The oil just runs through the center of the adjuster screw.

It does affect ratio and strength though.

From Jesel:
Quote:
We recommend not running the adjuster turned out more than two revolutions from the fully seated position. All rockers are shipped from Jesel with the adjuster set at one full turn from seated. Operating an engine with the adjusters more than two turns out puts excessive loads on the cup area and may lead to premature failure of the adjuster.
