Can the new style backup camera part number 56038978AH for a 2013 and newer truck be used on a 2010 truck instead of camera 56054164AB? I know it is possible to substitute the other way.

Electronically they are the same. The video format is the same specification. Physically, I do not know.

The connector and number of pins in the connector is different. Does anyone know where to get a wiring diagram for both cameras?

I use a go-pro with the go-pro ap on my phone for when I need to back up to the trailer by myself. set the camera on the bumper of the truck to back up.

for normal every day backing up like parking spaces and what not, I just use my mirrors all old school like.
