Less than a month away?

So...... That must mean 3 weeks until Billy's clan starts the thrash!!

I'm running crazy and spending $$ faster then I can print it.

Finished wired last night. (next time will start from scratch)

Install passenger seat tonight

Make exhaust this weekend

Plan on more track testing this weekend also at Byron.

Then start road tuning next week and figure out trailer vs rear rack, and what tires I will drive on

I'm all setup to watch the live feeds from the comfort of my combine, the wife hates losing her tablet for a week but she'll get over it.

Joel, and I leave for Drag Week in 16 days... Joel has been burning the midnight oil working on his '31 Plymouth Coupe. Still have to wire the car, finish the fuel system, and a few misc items. Should not be too big of a deal. Joel's plan is to hopefully have the car running by the end of this weekend, test Labor day weekend, and then test at Rockfalls Saturday the 9th, and go right to Cordova.

I have a good feeling, I will owe Joel a few dinners this year.

There is still a lot that can go wrong. When I last ran the 392 in Feb 2016 on the dyno, a pore in the head leaked into the intake port and blew out a cylinder wall. The block is sleeved. The head has been welded, but never fired since. This whole car has been built from just a frame and a body shell, and nothing has yet been tested. I lost 2- 1/2 months working on it this year due to health issues, so I am way behind. Still I am confident it will be ready. I got the cage certified last week, got insurance, going to get a current registration today, overnight packages from Summit are showing up almost every day. There is a lot of stuff that isn't turning out exactly how I want it on the first try, but there is no time to re-do things. So I just have to say good enuff, I'll make it better after Drag Week 2017.
But It is getting close, I am really enthused and motivated!

My work schedule that week is busier than I'd like, but hoping to go watch thurs at Da Grove and maybe the finals in Cordoba. Maybe Monday as well.

I'm ready, the car is going to Gimli race track on Saturday for a few shake down runs...

Even though I'm not going, I'm still stupid excited about it.

Looking forward to watching it and hearing the stories from those who are about to make the great journey.

Hot Rod Drag Week 2017 - Entry List

Well I'm on the entry list so that's a good sign

No. it is close, but Joel has quite a bit more done since that picture.

I too am looking forward to watching the live feed, and I too REALLY want to run it at least once, on my bucket list. Too bar the Drag Weekend has been replaced with the Zip-Tie Drags.

Its going to be hard not going this year, but my Dad and I are going up to Gateway to watch on Tuesday.

We are coming with a 1972 Valiant "purple and ugly" first time for us! Small block N/A. If we like it we will be back with something a little faster! If you see us come say hello
