On pure mopar look system and without being scared about premature failures headaches, go to R/T garage for the rev-n-nator setup.

chromed mopar box is a GREAT ignition box as far keeps working as I told, but is an adventure how much will last long.

Then there is several options already mentioned what mostly of them require some wiring mods

Will any of these set ups work with fuel injection in the future if I would decide to eventually go that route?

Yes it is a chebby module (see eBay or our archives for pics/schematics). small/cheap/reliable/electronically efficient. You can even mount it under the dist to hide it. EDIT I dont know FI but the guys here do & will advise.

Sorry edited s bit the reply, being I noticed you have a 70 and originally came with points. If you still have points, then will need to add the ECU wiring so will mean the same adding any other ign system, more or less

About injection. As far I know, yes, will work. Ignitions systems are not mandatory linked to one or another ign system. If they were, then were sold as a set allong with them

It may sound backwards, but I suggest choosing your EFI first, even if you don't buy it yet. But given the relative cost I see a real advantage to slipping the carb altogether and moving straight into a throttle body type EFI.

So, if you choose to go carburetion for a while, you should know that there are several approaches to ignition built into the EFI units. I think it is important to choose one that can control the ignition curve. It's much easier to input data than it is to change weights and springs. At least one setup has a built in coil driver. I believe that makes an ignition box unnecessary.

Anyway, it is possible to buy stuff that is usable with both carb and EFI, and it is also possible to buy a system that is not very compatible with the EFI. That's why I suggest choosing the EFI first even if you're going to IMHO waste money on a carb.

R.

I have FiTech Fuel Injection on my 410 stroker with the Rev n ator and it starts easily, runs great.

Long time ago FBO got a GREAT ECU box coded as A688, pretty much similar to the Mopar Chromed box on performance. I tried that too untill failed too, then I switched to Rev-N-Nator. They stopped their production because it seems Standard products who were the manufacturer of these down FBO specs moved to China and began the quality issues

After this they offered a new aluminium box coded as HR688. Some customers got this failling too and found after remove a rear cover it was an HEI Gm module hidden down this Mopar look a like box. Then a totally brand new box came out, the HRR688 which is the one being offered at this moment.

You left yourself open to lots of directions. laugh
Narrow it down a few different ways.
Use How will this engine be used? Drag race only, car shows only, every day its nice, long distance.
TuningHow much fine tuning are you planning on? It runs, that's good enough. Chasing the best e.t and mph. Best mpg on the cruise.
Install comfort Are you looking for a straight up plug and chug or willing to do wire tracing and custom work? If plug and chug, what's the starting point? Wired for points or wired for Chrysler ECU.
Failure Mode If it fails, how do you prefer it to go down? Don't care, I'm calling AAA or equivalent. Gonna call my Guru. Gonna rig it on the side of the road myself with a gum wrapper. Want to be able to walk in any parts store and get a replacement off the shelf. Etc...

Going to be all of the above except for the racer. May take it to the track and see what it runs. I would like to have one that has a rev limiter incase I miss a gear with the six speed. Was thinking of going with the FOB or Revenator. I just read where the FOB is all made in the USA now with a 5 year warranty. Just trying to figure out which is more dependable.
