In a B motor, a 6.535" rod works really good. 2.2" big end...yeah it's a Chevy style rod, or you can go with a higher pin heigth in the piston and go with a 440 length rod.

Any Reason for the short rod? The fact that the Eagles have been good to you is the type of info I am looking for. I was looking at the 3.9, 6.7 1.32 combo. with I Beam Rods.
Thanks

This is an old combo that Jason Pettis came up with And if you know Jason, you don`t question his reasoning. It wasn`t something I had input on so that`s all I can tell ya.

I`ve got 8+ years on my eagle h beam 6.385 chevy rods w/an off-set ground(3.900) stroke 413 crank in two different combos and they looked/measured great on my last tear down 4 years ago.
What did you use for a PISTON with that combo ?

Which block are you planning on building, low deck or high deck? I have two 440 block motors with 3.9 stroke cranks in them, I used 7.10 long rods in both. One set of Eagles H beam and one set of CAT H beam. I also have a 400 block that has a 4.30 sroke crank in it and I used a CAT 6.80 long H beam steel rod in it, it is four years old now and still going strong after hundreds of runs, 75+ dyno pulls and 1500 to 2200 street mile ( the speedometer deosn't work so I'm not really sure of what the total street miles on it are ) Probally less than I think
