Will need new tires after season If i swap 28by 10 bias slick to the same size radial( assuming the car continues to hook well) any difference on the slip?

Most say a tenth or better faster on the radial.

Mine ran .15 quicker with Radials. I've seen from .10 to .18 decrease in ET in the 1/4 mile depending on the power of the car and weather conditions, slower cars gain less than the higher HP cars do

My car didn't gain much but I think it was needing the growth from the bias tire as I am pretty tapped on gear at the moment. What did surprise me is that my 60ft went down by .05 and I didn't have a traction problem. I log driveshaft speed and while there was maybe some slip with the bias tire it wasn't much. The radial shows a smooth graph with zero tire slip.
I went from a 28x10.5S slick to a 28x10.5 pro bracket radial. I didn't run many passes on the bias tire but I am a big radial fan. But just like you see everyone say when the track is marginal so is the radial.

The radial is 87 i want to run, my bias ply is 88. Want a bit more gear so it might help on that a bit.

Mine ran .15 quicker with Radials. Im shocked. So from what slick to what radial ? I am fitting some 275/60/15 M/T Pro Radials now and was expecting to run a touch slower than on the 28" slick.

Al, If you havent bought yet look at the pro bracket radial. Is lighter than pro275 . I had major balance issues with pro275 as well . I am on my second set of pbr 28x10.5r15 . 150 plus passes first set , still have 5-20 left when swapped out Oh i have only ever run radials on the satellite Tex

I switched from a Hoosier QTP bias tire of 29.5 x 11.5 to the 30 x 9 Hoosier radial slick. I switched when I had my old 440 in my 63 which ran mid 11's. I did not notice any change in my et but I like the car with the radial slicks as it handles better and has no wondering on the top end at all. Course I run more air pressure in the radials which may be helping it to go nice and straight also as I run about 18 psi in my radials when racing. And I found as long as I stage in the grove where everyone is launching it is very consisdent on the radial slicks. Cant say for sure if my car is any faster on radials but I like them much better then the bias and will not go back to the bias. I have only run the radials with my 493 and they work real good behind my 493 as it always hooks fine as long as I stage in the grove. Ron

I tried M/T 29.5/10.5w and M/T 315/60 Drag Radial on the same night at Test and Tune and ran .11 quicker in the 1/8 with the Drag Radials on my D-50. I was running in the 6.30 range at the time. I will never buy a slick again.
