I plan to get a pair to work on over the fall. How well do they work with just a basic porting job? Is it worth going to a 2.25 valve? I am aware of the pushrod issue etc. What are your experiences with them? They will be going on a 511 flat top engine. Will run a streetable solid roller .690 lift or less.

I'm not real impressed with mine, they look like stock but there are no indications that they are like produced from Eddy according to them They say the Victor M.W heads are regular Victor head CNC ported one inch in to max wedge size Mine are cast M.W. ports a lot further in than one inch

A dyno comparison between the MW Victor vs a 440-1 would be a fun test for sure. I've had way more -1's on my bench than MW Victors, but so far the -1's are winning the flow bench battle by a fair amount. I want the potential of a offset pushrod head without using Indy. Seems options are very limited. Those are pretty much you're only options......along with B1's.

What is your goal? Hughes Engines has CNC versions that flow about 400 cfm. I would look at getting paired rocker, rocker arms that replace the shaft type rocker arms, if your going to have more than 700 pound open spring pressures. It takes a bit of work to get a 2.00" install height valve spring to fit with the stock valve lengths. I don't know anyone who has used longer valves yet, but might be an option if going to a custom or semi-custom rocker arm setup? If valve spring pressures and valve lift are not too high, then the T&D offset shaft rocker arms work good using ARP rocker shaft studs.
Anyone using the Trick Flow 270's?

Okay so the castings have changed dramatically at some point? I don't mind doing some porting and a valve job, they need that anyways. I want the potential of a offset pushrod head without using Indy. Seems options are very limited. The only change to the Victor heads is a more refined casting process and a thicker center rocker shaft pedestal. Be prepared to remove a LOT of aluminum from the intake bowls in order to make the heads competitive with the Trick Flow heads. Hopefully Edelbrock will offer a CNC version of both the standard and max wedge Victor heads soon. I would gladly pay extra for a CNC option considering the amount of time I've put in the Victors I have.

They work ok, and will take a little work to make them " better". I have customers running all sorts of combos, and yes, several Victor and many -1 set ups. We have a couple pretty good working sets of Victors, and even Pro Comp( std port) copies, but they really dont hold a candle to a good working -1 head in my opinion, at a much easier " accomplishment" rate. I would seriously question the 400CFM flow number, based on my experiences.I would prefer the 2.25 valve.

Gen II Victor MW, with seat machined for 2.25 valve, minor blend of bowl to valve job, no chamber mods:
Lift----int .100---63.9 .200--117.1 .300--173.2 .400--226.8 .500--285.3 .600--334.5 .700--334.5 .800--344.7
The Gen II chamber is pulled in pretty close to the valves, which really puts the hurtin on the low/mid-lift numbers(unless some chamber mods are performed).
On the other hand, the current version of the 440-1 head comes with the chambers cnc'd, which makes those heads pretty effective(350+) with only a nice valve job and a quick blend of the bowl and short turn.
Depending on how much power you're trying make...... It might still be pretty hard to argue with the TF 270 heads from a cfm-per-dollar standpoint.

Victors? Who the He11 wants to run THOSE things? Oh, never mind... I let Dwayne make 350+ CFM chicken salad out of 315 CFM chicken sh!t with mine. But mine are lil' ole standard ports, not MW. INTAKE (2.20" valve) 0.100 -- 75.0 0.200 -- 151.3 0.300 -- 220.1 0.400 -- 280.3 0.500 -- 326.1 0.550 -- 338.2 0.600 -- 346.0 0.650 -- 350.5 0.700 -- 355.5 0.750 -- 346.7

Admittedly I haven’t had many of these heads on my bench, but all of what I tested was still pretty far from 400.
