Anyone have success using the stamped valley cover that Edelbrock offers for the BB Victor heads, or should I start saving my $$$ for AndyF's replacement cover?

I'm asking 'cuz I have the E part already, but the board member who purchased my Hughes CNC Victors told me that his leaked and he switched to the AR Engineering piece to correct the issue.

Edelbrock 7798? I use one on my mud truck, so far after 3 years it has kept the oil in, the mud/water out.

I don't know E's part #, but it's whatever they sell to use w/ Victor heads on an RB block.

Actually, I have two... but the first one wasn't drilled properly by Edelbrock. They sent me a replacement and let me keep the improperly manufactured one... as scrap metal? whistling

Only valley pan I ever had an issue with was the 440 source piece that didn't seal to the heads correctly. They were flimsy and leaked in the middle.

The Edelbrock piece, that bolts directly to the head, sealed great and actually required a pry bar to disassemble.

I think its this one: http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/7798/10002/-1 only one I can find. It's really nothing fancy but it does its job, not sure how it would leak unless not enough RTV was used. Maybe if the heads are milled and the bolts aren't in the right spot anymore.

I bought and used the low deck valley pan cover on my bracket motor with the M.W victor heads, it has been on there for over three years of racing with no leaks work
I did use a liberal amount of Permatex grey adhesive silicone on the sides and ends up
I've had it off several times to grind on the heads for pushrod clearances when I switch to the Harland Sharp 1.6 ratio rockers from the original Hughes cyro treated set, no leaking any time with the grey silicone shruggy

i had no luck at all with Edelbrocks cover. It warped while i was installing it and leaked in use. I bought Andy F cover. works great. My Victors were milled some. maybe had something to do with the leaks. Andys cover fit perfect even with the minor milling my heads have.

IIRC, my heads have been milled .030", so I don't know if that's enough to cause leaks. I'll look for fitment issues when I get a chance to mock up both heads on the block soon.
