77 Dodge truck. I googled this and still not sure where they go. It says put em around the caliper adapter. Then what? Anybody have a clear installed picture? Do I even need them? Thanks in advance.

I've never used them and have no idea how they go on.

I found them under the spring type hold down retainer.

Have owned several 72-93 trucks with slider calipers and the only one that needed the bands was my 92 D350. Going down the road the calipers would clatter around when going over little bumps and ripples in the road. Real annoying. The band circles the mount so part of it is in the slide area between the mount and caliper. They would last for a few thousand hwy miles before wearing off and the caliper would clatter again.
Use caliper lube on the contact areas between the caliper and its mount that it slides in. Then drive it. If no clatter then toss the bands.

Agree, especially with moparmarks...I installed them on my coupe, care has barely any miles of the few seasons now (3k), at the start of this season I did a full "check-up", bleed the brakes, adjust, etc...sure enough, the rubber bands broke...I removed them, the brakes are quiet, but in my install I used the synthetic grease on all moving parts anyways.
