I have some measurements
depth of the bowl approx 1 7/8
width 3 inches
length 5 7/8

A #171 will have a 1" bore size. A closer pic of the numbers on the side would help date it.

A better pic of the casting number maybe with different lighting may reveal the number work

what are probable or possible numbers? scope MAYBE??

I do not have this part in my possession.. I am looking for a 171 master cylinder.. looks pretty spot on as a 171.. do you know of any masters with those suggested numbers..

It's a 2229171. The only other one that looks like that is the hemi 2229191, but that MC has a 1-1/8 bore and a boss on the bottom for a retaining bolt, which the one you show doesn't have, thus a 9171 for sure.

They were used for only one year, 1970, and only on power disc brake E bodies except hemi. How common is that?
