I bought some of the re pop head rest chrome trim for a 70 b body. I got the old stuff off finally and cleaned the head rest with mar hyde cleaner andwiped it down good, then pulled the tape on the new trim and tried to stick it on. Nope...the stuff will not stick to the head rest in fact it is a 3 m tape and wont stick to much of anything. I did this at room temp so that's not the issue.
Any idea what I can do with the useless new trim? Has anyone ever used this crap? I am thinking about trying some weather strip adhesive on it but hate to ruin the original head rests.
Any better ideas out there ?

In case anyone is wondering I was successful using 3 m weatherstrip adhesive. I wiped down the groove in the head rest with some lacquer thinner first to get the old adhesive out. Worked very well.
